STRICKLAND: There's a song we play on Smile FM called "Broken Things." I love it because it opens wide the doors that allow us to do God's work without being burdened with the feeling that we aren't good enough. It's a reminder that God doesn't just want the "perfect" Christian to be a mouthpiece or representative, but in our damaged state, we are still called. "And if it's true that You use broken things, here I am, Lord, I'm all Yours." The song is by Matthew West and it's a great place to start if you're struggling with feeling like you're not good enough. Great news, friends: We *can't* be good enough. That's what God's grace is all about.
Listen to Josh Strickland, weekday mornings from 5 to 10am, on 88.1 Smile FM in Lansing! Smile FM plays Michigan's Positive Hits®!
Following his departure from Lansing's 97.5 NOW FM (WJIM-FM) earlier this year, where Josh Strickland hosted mornings for nearly a decade, he joined the statewide Smile FM Radio Network in a capacity that meant a bit smaller profile, but that is about to change.
Strickland is officially stepping into the morning show position at Smile FM. Lansing listeners will again be able to hear Strickland's show, Monday through Friday from 5am to 10am, on 88.1. The network has frequencies all across the state -- more than twenty five stations from Detroit to Marquette in the western Upper Peninsula.
Strickland will continue in his now-evolving role of Director of Localism, with a continued task of better connecting individual stations to their own markets.
At NOW FM, Strickland's solo morning show, regularly ranked inside the top three between 2007 and 2015, became the #1 morning show in Lansing in 2016. The Lansing market is Smile FM's flagship. 88.1 signed on the air in 1996, then known as "The Light."
