UPDATE: CMU students are being allowed to leave campus following this morning's double homicide. The manhunt for James Eric Davis, Jr., continues. He is believed to be in the city of Mt. Pleasant.

UPDATE: CMU Police have confirmed in a press conference that the suspect, James Eric Davis, Jr., was transported to McLaren on Thursday evening by police connected to what they believed to be a drug overdose or reaction to some sort of drug. Police responded to reports of shots fired in Campbell Hall at around 8:30am Friday morning. Police are treating this as a family domestic situation but have not released the identities of the victims. Police believe Davis is within the city limits of Mount Pleasant. Parents of students are asked not to come to campus, but rather to report to the Comfort Inn on Mission Street, where they will be met by University officials.
UPDATE: The victims have perished, CMU police say. They were not students. The suspect has been identified as James Eric Davis, Jr., 19, weighing approximately 135 pounds and standing approximately 5 feet 10 inches. He is considered armed and dangerous and remains at large.
Michigan State Police confirm two people have been shot on the campus of Central Michigan University and that the suspect, a black male wearing mustard yellow jeans and a blue hoodie, remains on the loose.
CMU, city buildings and Mt. Pleasant schools are on lockdown and authorities are asking anyone that sees something suspicious to call 911 immediately.
The shots reportedly came from Campbell Hall.
