Josh Strickland will sit in for Jenn on Smile FM's Morning Espresso this week. Celebrating #NationalRadioDay today is a good lead in for a major September topic that Brian and Josh will discuss; the Smile FM 30 Day Corporate Challenge. What is it? It's the challenge to listen ONLY to Smile FM and positive hit music for thirty days, beginning September 1st, and seeing how it changes your mood, heart and attitude.
It's almost impossible to not listen to Smile FM in Michigan as the station broadcasts on more than twenty frequencies from the top to the bottom of the Great Lake State. Smile FM is a nonprofit, listener-supported radio network.
In Lansing, the network's flagship station is at 88.1 FM. In Flint, it's 89.7. In Midland, it's 88.3. Grand Rapids has two frequencies; 90.9 and 99.9. Depending on where in southeastern Michigan you might be, there are multiple Detroit-area frequencies. There are multiple "Up North" frequencies as well, including the network's newest, 107.7 FM in Manistee. There are even two stations in the Upper Peninsula; in Sault Ste. Marie and Marquette. In the very few areas of the state where a broadcast doesn't quite reach, there's always high-quality streaming online at Smile.FM.
Smile FM plays around 55 minutes of music most hours of the day, stopping twice each hour for news and/or weather. Josh Strickland covers traffic reports during key hours of the morning rush.
It's not uncommon to see Smile FM out and about. In the past two weeks Smile FM has done broadcasts and events in Flint, Lansing, Muskegon and Manistee. This Friday, Jenn and Brian will take the Morning Espresso live to Charlotte; Eaton County, Michigan's county seat. On Sunday, Smile FM presents a free concert with the band Rush of Fools following the Sunday afternoon Lansing Lugnuts baseball game at Cooley Law School Stadium.
