Michele Hoffman, the owner of Lansing-based Hoffman Photography, may be best known as 'The Picture Lady.'

On Thursday evening May 3rd, Hoffman was traveling to an event in Holt when her van was "T-boned" at the intersection of Hagadorn and Saginaw, she said.

The picture above, supplied by Hoffman, is not one taken by her, as Hoffman herself can be seen in the driver seat of the van wearing neon green.  She said seeing this photo is "kinda crazy," and doesn't hesitate to praise the first responders that rushed to help her.

She shared that two firefighters came to the windshield and said "Hi Picture Lady." Then one of the firefighters said "I've seen you look better." She said that made her laugh. Then the other said "You are getting a new truck." Again, she said, she laughed.

These conversations, and the actions of a woman named Heather, who was the first person to stop after the collision, helped keep her calm. Heather, who has a military background, Hoffman told Strickland's Love Lansing, found a way into the overturned van. She and her husband stayed with Hoffman until police and firefighters arrived.

Hoffman had to be extracted from her van, which she said is totaled.

Hoffman also thanks Sparrow's Trauma and E.R. teams.
